Funny coloring book!

This is such a cool coloring book! I had NEVER heard of swearword coloring books. I always color gardens, flowers, birds, animals, ect…. Sometimes when I want to get my angst out and laugh a little – this is my new favorite book to color in!

The book comes with a glossy front and thick, white pages. The pages are printed all on one side. You can color with markers or colored pencils on these pages and nothing will soak though. You can also cut them out and color with them.

The swear words in this book are all the exact same style but they are AWESOME! There is also several British swear words that I have never heard of! Haha! They are all printed landscape orientation, and with swirls, puppies, kittens, flowers and leaves. Lol. I sort of wish some of them were different styles but that’s okay, now that I know about swear word coloring books, I will start to collect different variations.

Overall, a funny book to surprise someone with or purchase for yourself to have something a little “different” to color on! 5/5 stars!

Mom's coloring book!!!!

Doesn't everyone need an adult swear word coloring book? This book has a lot of wonderful british inappropriate words in it, which makes it all the better. It is small enough to store on a bookshelf without being obvious that it is a swear word coloring book, now i just have to hide it from the kids - this is mamas coloring book!

Fun to have around the house.

The coloring book is fun. It's relaxing and a good way to kill time, but feel somewhat productive... I sometimes color while watching TV.
The pages are literally just words to color. That's not a problem, as long as you are not looking for any inspirational quotes here or there.

In 1962 George Martin reluctantly signed a young group called the Beatles to the EMI record label. Thus began his stint as record producer for one of the most groundbreaking bands in pop history. Martin, writing with freelancer Pearson, describes in detail the creative processes-both artistic and technical-that went into making one of the most acclaimed Beatles albums, the 1967 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, "a musical fragmentation grenade, exploding with a force that is still being felt." There are many (probably too many) books on the Beatles already, but this one is by someone closer professionally to the group than anyone else--George Martin, producer of all the Beatles' albums. With Pearson's help, Martin focuses on the making of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the landmark 1967 album that--with its exotic instruments, innovative recording techniques, and sophisticated songwriting--opened new possibilities for rock music and also captured its era's zeitgeist like few works of any kind before or since. Amid a detailed, song-by-song account of the recording of "the virtuoso music collage that is Pepper," Martin recalls his first meeting with the Beatles at their 1962 audition, discusses the band's musical influences, traces its members' rapid progress from makers of simple pop songs to composers of intricate art music, and confirms or denies many established bits of Beatles lore. One of the best books ever written about the Beatles

This fascinating, thorough, and accurate book about the making of the Sgt. Pepper album is the U.S. edition of Martin's Summer Of Love. It's the same book: same text, same photos, different title. Martin did a tremendous job researching this book, combining his and others' enjoyable first-hand recollections about the making of the album with extensive research at the EMI studios, relistening to the session tapes (including the unreleased alternate takes), checking the detailed notes written on the original session sheets, and so on. (In contrast, for All You Need Is Ears all those years ago, he relied on his memory, and the results were much less complete.) Amazingly, this was the first Beatles book to reveal that Paul McCartney played lead guitar on the "Sgt. Pepper" title track (yes, he sure did), and also the first to thoroughly dispel the tired myth that "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" was "all John": it was a true cocomposition by John AND Paul (as John said himself in at least two interviews). It's refreshing to see a book like this that assumes the TRUTH will be "good enough" entertainment for any sensible reader. Martin, thankfully, simply ignores rock writers' relentless post-Lennon rewriting of Beatles history, which has magnified anything negative Lennon ever said about McCartney while ignoring anything positive (such as Lennon's praise of "When I'm Sixty-Four" to interviewer Anne Nightingale)... and has consistently seized on Lennon's MOST mistakenly exaggerated or misleading claims about his own role in the creation of songs, while "forgetting" about all the many times John happened to give Paul completely fair, due credit (such as his 1965 interview with Valerie Wilmer, in which he described "Ticket To Ride"'s melody as cowritten by McCartney). George Martin, who admired and liked both Lennon and McCartney, has no axe to grind about them, or the other two Beatles... and he finds the right balance of modesty and candor in describing his own important role in the creation of this album, too. The previously unseen session photos are a fine bonus. This book is a keeper.

A Treasure

I'm pretty surprised about the few people here who have actually bashed this book. As a big Beatle fan and one who's read tons of books about them, I don't recall any inconsistancy's in this book whatsoever. Though short, this is probably one of the most prized Beatle books in my collection. My only complaint is I wish George Martin would do the same thing he's done here with Sgt. Pepper and write books about the sessions for the White Album, Revolver and Abby Rd. : ) A treasure to own. A book to read and re-read over and over.

Musicians take note!

For fans of pop music history, and especially for those interested in recording science, this book is a must read. George Martin, the Beatles' producer, tells the detailed account of how the group's most famous album was created, from the beginning creative germs to the cover art.
For those in the recording industry, Martin's detailed explanations of how he created some of the now-famous effects on that album, at a time when recording science was still somewhat primitive, is quite interesting.
If you don't like the Beatles' music, you probably won't be able to sit through the sometimes technical recording talk, but anyone for whom the Beatles marked the culture of their youth should find it fascinating.

Great Beginner to Advanced Book

I worked in a body shop for 5 years as a general helper. When I graduated college with an engineering degree I decided to get back into autobody repair as a hobby. This book was a perfect reference. It covers everything from pre-washing to paint to frame repair to estimating.

Don't expect to be an expert after reading this book. It is designed to get you on the right track.

The book does not cover specifics on painting since each manufacturer has their own technique. For this information you will need to contact PPG, Dupont, Sikkens...

Collision Repair Technology by James Duffy is toned down and easier to read version of this book that would be great for a classroom.

Informative and clearly expressed.

Russell is proclaimed as one of the foremost philosophers of the 19th century. He is certainly one of the clearest writers on philosophy and the subject of human knowledge. I found this text well organised and expressed in clear terms. It is possible that there have been advances in philosophy (and topically epistemology) since Russell wrote this work: however, modern texts in epistemology sometimes hide whatever message they are trying to convey in complex expression and academic "sounding" words.
This text is essential reading for those interested in what we humans can know, and how we can say we know it.

RUSSELL’S FINAL SUMMATION OF HIS PHILOSOPHY OF KNOWLEDGE AND EPISTEMOLOGY

Bertrand Arthur William Russell (1872–1970) was an influential British philosopher, logician, mathematician, and political activist. In 1950, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, in recognition of his many books such as A History of Western Philosophy, The Problems of Philosophy, Mysticism and Logic, Why I am Not a Christian, Religion and Science, The Philosophy of Logical Atomism, The Analysis of Mind, Our Knowledge of the External World, etc.

He wrote in the Preface to this 1948 book, “The following pages are addressed not only or primarily to professional philosophers but to that much larger public which is interested in philosophical questions without being willing or able to devote more than a limited amount of time to considering them… I think it is unfortunate that during the last hundred and sixty years or so philosophy has come to be regarded almost as technical as mathematics. Logic, it must be admitted, is technical in the same way as mathematics is, but logic, I maintain, is not part of philosophy. Philosophy proper deals with matters of interest to the general educated public, and loses much of its value if only a few professionals can understand what it said. In this book I have sought to deal, as comprehensively as I am able, with a very large question: How comes it that human beings, whose contacts with the world are brief and personal and limited, are nevertheless able to know as much as they do now? Is the belief in our knowledge partly illusory? And, if not, what must we know otherwise than through the senses?”

He said in the Introduction, “there has been a mistaken tendency among philosophers to allow the description of the world to be influenced unduly by considerations derived from the nature of human knowledge. To scientific common sense (which I accept) it is plain that only an infinitesimal part of the universe is known, that there were countless ages during which there was no knowledge, and that there will probably be countless ages without knowledge in the future.” (Pg. xi) He adds, “if, then, I am ever to be able to infer events, I must accept principles of inference which lie outside deductive logic. All inferences from events to events demands some kind of interconnection between different occurrences. Such interconnection … is implied… in whatever limited validity may be assigned to induction by simple enumeration. But the traditional ways of formulating the kind of interconnection that must be postulated are in many ways defective, some being too stringent and some not sufficiently so. To discover the minimum principles required to justify scientific inferences is one of the main purposes of this book.” (Pg. xii-xiii)

He states, “it must be admitted that there is a bare possibility---no more---that although occurrences in the brain do not infringe the laws of physics, nevertheless their outcome is not what it would be if no psychological factors were involved… There is therefore, so far, not the smallest positive reason for supposing that there is anything about physical processes in the brain that involves different macroscopic laws from those of the physics of inanimate matter. Nevertheless, for those who are anxious to assert the power of mind over matter it is possible to find a loophole… since… according to quantum physics, there are no physical laws to determine which of several possible transitions a given atom will undergo, we may imagine that, in a brain, the choice between possible transitions is determined by a psychological cause called ‘volition.’ All this is POSSIBLE, but no more than possible; there is not the faintest positive reason for supposing that anything of the sort actually takes place.” (Pt. One, Ch. V, pg. 40-41)

He observes, “‘Knowledge’ is a vague concept for two reasons. First, because the meaning of a word is always more or less vague… and second, because all that we count as knowledge is in a greater or lesser degree uncertain, and there is no way of deciding how much uncertainty makes a belief unworthy to be called ‘knowledge,’ any more than mow much loss of hair makes a man bald.” (Pt. Two, Ch. V, pg. 98) He points out, “There is a long history of discussions as to what was mistakenly called ‘skepticism of the senses.’ Many appearances are deceptive. Things seen in a mirror may be thought to be ‘real.’ … The rainbow seems to touch the ground at some point, but if you go there you do not find it… But in all these cases the core of data is not illusory, but only the derived beliefs. My visual sensations, when I look in a mirror or see double, are exactly what I think they are… In dreams I have all the experiences that I seem to have; it is only things outside my mind that are not as I believe them to be while I am dreaming. There are in fact no illusions of the senses, but only mistakes in interpreting sensational data as signs of things other than themselves… there is no evidence that there are illusions of the senses.” (Pt. Three, Ch. I, Pg. 167)

He contends, “the best scientific opinion of the present time has a better chance of truth, or of approximate truth, than any differing hypothesis suggested by a layman. The case is analogous to that of firing at a target. If you are a bad shot you are not likely to hit the bull’s-eye, but you are nevertheless more likely to hit the bull’s-eye than to hit any other equal area. So the scientist’s hypothesis, though not likely to be quite right, is more likely to be right than any variant suggested by an unscientific person.” (Pt. Four, Ch. I, pg. 235) He asserts, “Perfect rationality consists not in believing what is true but in attaching to every proposition a degree of belief corresponding to its degree of credibility. In regard to empirical propositions, the degree of credibility changes when fresh evidence accrues. In mathematics, the rational man who is not a mathematician will believe what he is told. He will therefore change his beliefs when mathematicians discover errors in the work of their predecessors. The mathematician himself may be completely rational in spite of making a mistake, if the mistake is one which at the time is very difficult to detect. Whether we ought to aim at rationality is an ethical question.” (Pt. Five, Ch. VI, pg. 397-398)

He argues, “Belief in causation, whether valid nor not, is deeply embedded in language. Consider how Hume, despite his desire to be skeptical, allows himself, from the start, to use the word ‘impression.’ An ‘impression’ should be something that presses in on one, which is a purely causal conception. The difference between an ‘impression’ and an ‘idea’ should be that the former, but not the latter, have a proximate cause which is external… For my part, I should define an ‘impression,’ or a ‘sensation,’ as a mental occurrence of which the proximate cause is physical, while an ‘idea’ has a proximate cause which is mental… In dreams we think we have impressions, but when we wake we usually conclude that we were mistaken. It follows that there is no INTRINSIC character which inevitably distinguishes impressions from ideas.” (Pt. Six, Ch. V, pg. 455-456)

Russell was reportedly disappointed that professional philosophers (who were engrossed in Existentialism and Linguistic Philosophy, when this book was published) ignored this book; but with the advantage of hindsight, I think we can appreciate it as an excellent summing-up of Russell’s analytic philosophy (except that he gives “science” a much greater degree of confidence than we might, nowadays).

Strictly reserved for the serious

To my knowledge, one of the best books ever written.

Russell's English has a wonderful, graceful clarity. But this is not an easy book to read. What does it mean to "know"? what do we know? how far can we be sure that we do in fact know? These are fundamental questions about human thought, and this book is an essential item in the library of anyone who is concerned with such questions.

That's the lesson of this simple tale, imported from Switzerland. It's a useful one for future sneaker and designer clothing shoppers, for rainbow fish--and for quieter, plainer minnows, too.

Despite some jazzy special effects achieved with shimmery holographs, this cautionary tale about selfishness and vanity has trouble staying afloat. Rainbow Fish, "the most beautiful fish in the entire ocean," refuses to share his prized iridescent scales--which, indeed, flash and sparkle like prisms as each page is turned. When his greed leaves him without friends or admirers, the lonely fish seeks advice from the wise octopus, who counsels him to give away his beauty and "discover how to be happy." The translation from the original German text doesn't enhance the story's predictable plot, and lapses into somewhat vague descriptions: after sharing a single scale, "a rather peculiar feeling came over Rainbow Fish." Deep purples, blues and greens bleed together in Pfister's liquid watercolors; unfortunately, the watery effect is abruptly interrupted by a few stark white, text-only pages. Ages 4-8.

PreSchool-Grade 1-- Children will be immediately drawn to this book that features an iridescent, metallic-looking main character whose ``scales were every shade of blue and green and purple, with sparkling silver scales among them.'' Adult suspicions of the gimmick overwhelming the story quickly fade as the plot unfolds: none of the other fish will have anything to do with the Rainbow Fish, who always swims by superciliously and refuses to give away any of his special garb. He is lonely and without admirers until a wise female octopus advises him to give away his scales. Rainbow Fish then discovers that sharing brings happiness and acceptance. The delicate watercolors of underwater scenes are a perfect foil to the glittering scales that eventually form a part of each fish's exterior. This is certainly a story written to convey a message, but in its simplicity, it recalls the best of Lionni. Extraordinary Imaging and Classic Story Line

I bought this book for my two-year-old daughter. She loves me to read to her every night before bed time. This is one of my child's favorite books to have read to her. I always enjoyed reading this book as I grew up so I knew for a fact that my daughter would enjoy this book just as much as I always had. I would recommend the hardback copy of this book. The pages have magnificent illustrations and my daughter loves the way "The Rainbow Fish" sparkles. Besides the extraordinary imaging, the story line is classic. Great story line to teach your young ones about the importance of generosity and the effectiveness of greed. I would highly recommend this book to any parents that want to get their children interested in reading!

heart warming and profoundly delightful

This is one of my all-time favorite books. I can't even count how many times it's made me cry. It instills a very good lesson about sharing so everyone is happy. the illustrations are so beautiful as well. there is a lot of talk about shine, shimmer, sparkle. every kid loves shiny things. even the big kids.

Wowza! I absolutely love it! Gemi is the fourth book in The Draglen Brothers Series by Solease M. Barner and it totally rocks! Solease has dazzled us once again with her amazing skill, unique style and astounding imagination. The story is exciting, thrilling imaginative, original, well developed, riveting, action packed, romantic, arousing and sensual. The dialogue is smart, well written and flows well. The characters are fascinating, captivating, intriguing, engaging, endearing,sexy as sin and at times, down right hilarious. Solease expertly combines these elements to craft an exhilarating paranormal read full of magic, fantasy, adventure and romance. Prince Gemi has searched for hundreds of years for his mate with no success - until now. While in New Orleans, he is quite surprised when he unexpectedly senses his Wella, the lovely Shalisi Narmon. She is beautiful, sexy and everything he has ever dreamed except for one teensy, tiny problem - she's a witch! What? Passion Ignites! Handsome sexy dragon-check! Beautiful sassy witch-check! Danger, drama, suspense and evil witches-check! Sweet romance, a generous helping of angst and a dash of steamy sex-you betcha! Although this is the fourth book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone novel. However, I highly recommend reading all four books to enrich the reading experience. Fantastic entertainment and an awesome read!

After waiting rather impatiently for this book to come out so I could continue my love affair with the brothers I was absolutely beyond happiness that I could finally get to find out who and what Gemi was really about.
Once again Solease M. Barner has managed to enthrall us with another yet more complicated Draglen Brother.
Gemi is so much more, he has two sides to himself that we finally get to see and feel. This is a passionate roller coaster of a book and I went through just about every emotion known to man during my reading experience.
I felt sorry for Gemi at times but then I would almost cry for his Wella Shalisi she is so conflicted with what is right for her, her coven and her heart. She has been lied to for most of her life by those that she trusts (I’m not going to give too much away as this is not a spoiler), but in the end does love prevail or do the witches win?
You can feel Gemis pain as he tries to convince his wella of his love and its so frustrating as I wanted to reach into the book and shake Shalisi at times.
Queen Nala made me laugh in this book, she actually travels to earth to rescue her boy and although it’s a successful trip Gemi has a lot of healing to do (after keeping one side of you hidden for so long it is kind of hard to make that side sleep again). We get to see a softer yet oh so fierce side of the queen in this book and her reaction to Gemis dilemma totally shocked me.
Gemi is so different from his brothers I feel that although all the brothers love with all their heart Gemi feels things on a much deeper level (that is just my opinion though), he has truly found his match in Shalisi and I can only image how much fun these two will get up to.

This book is told in the third person so we get both sides to the story, both sides of the pain both sides of the passion and twice as much hotness, and let me tell you IT IS ONE HOT READ…
Please do buy this complete series you will honestly not regret it for a moment, the only thing I would recommend is taking a glass of water with you when you read these books as I can guarantee you will get a little warm.

I totally fell in love with Gemi and Shalisi

Gemi is the 4th book of the Draglen Brothers series. I totally fell in love with Gemi and Shalisi. My heart hurt for Gemi during most of this book. He is so sweet and keeps his dragon under wraps so he doesn't scare Shalisi. They want each other so badly but she is a witch and as such isn't allowed in Gemi's home. She has always been told that dragons are not to be trusted and is the next in line to become a very powerful witch for her coven. Little by little the walls come down and when they finally come together the sparks fly. Shalisi is afraid that they will be caught and killed so she sends Gemi away. The week apart is hard on them both and Gemi finally claims Shalisi when they come together again. He is captured and tortured by the witches and Shalisi is kept asleep and away from Gemi.

All hell is about to break through because Queen Nala, Gemi's mother, has decided to go to Earth to rescue her son. She has never gone to Earth before and takes a few of her other children with her. The rescue is a success but Gemi needs to heal and they keep Shalisi away from him. She finally gets to see him but he is still in dragon form. He'd kept his dragon inside for so long that he isn't ready to give up his form yet. He's in a snit but finally relents when Shalisi comes to be with him and isn't afraid.

Please, please read this series if you like paranormal romance/shifters. You won't regret it. Each book is fantastic and sweeps you away into a whole new world and a new language to explore. Draken is my favorite but Showken and Layern are just as good. Each brother is a alpha looking for his mate. I'm ready for Warton's book and during that I'd love to read about Gemi and Shalisi's wedding and the new Young that is on the way for Draken and Cess. Oh yes, there are more brothers and a sister to read about when their books come out. I for one and looking forward to the continuation of this wonderful series.
